Equality and Equal Opportunities Commission
Our faculty is characterized by a wide variety of students, researchers and teachers from different cultures, different regional and social backgrounds, different sexual orientations, physical abilities, religion and age. In order to be an attractive place for research and teaching and to benefit from the heterogeneity and diversity of perspectives, the standards already achieved are continuously reviewed within the framework of equality and their further development in studies, teaching, research and professional life is promoted.
The faculty has the goal of equal opportunities based on its self-understanding and has developed its own equality concept. For this purpose, an equal opportunities commission was established to which anyone can turn with questions and comments. In this way, the FHW also implements the central principle of equal opportunities and equality as a cross-sectional task of the Otto von Guericke University.
The members of the Commission for Gender Equality and Equal Opportunities support the FHW in implementing concrete measures for gender equality and equal opportunities. In the faculty, they are involved, among other things, in the recruitment process, take care of issues related to work-life balance, coordinate gender-specific support programs and support events with a gender and diversity perspective.
